Everyone likes to tweet a good trend story (or a really bad one). My Twitter feed is so often full of discussions on the emergence of the New Adult category, the transition of fan-fiction into the mainstream and billionaire heroes. Only there isn’t much talk about what happens when a genre becomes hot.
I’m over at Heroes & Heartbreakers today talking about tropes in urban fantasy and offering suggestions of a few series that break away from formulaic writing and give us fresh, engaging urban fantasy.
