We’re a little over five weeks away from the release of Borrowed Souls. (Yes, I’m excited. Yes, I’ll remind you about the pre-order rewards sweetness.) The early reviews just started coming in, and I had to share with you guys because—ahem—they like the book.

Both Publisher’s Weekly and RT Book Reviews ran reviews of Borrowed Souls this week. The PW review is available online, but RT keeps theirs behind a paywall. Excerpts from both are below.

“Mueller explores an intriguing concept in a seedy, visceral setting that pops to life on the page.” — Publisher’s Weekly (click to read the full review)

“Mueller’s debut is a fun, witty, fast-paced ride about a woman who is always putting her family first and worrying about the consequences second. Callie Delgado is a strong, fierce protector on the outside, but on the inside, she is falling apart. She just wants someone to take care of her for once. The characters in this book are funny and charming, disturbing and scary. The scenarios that surround Callie can be frightening or comical, which makes this a great read. Stellar work from Mueller! Looking forward to more from her in the future.” — RT Book Reviews
